1 week in Bali and we have:
- Found an amazing villa to live in – rooftop pool, daily house keeping and massive bed (I totally get why people never leave)
2. Found a surf instructor – yes, Harry has already found half of St Agnes in the Ripcurl shop down the road.
3. Not gotten sick?! Maybe my emergency 2 week dose of probitoics has worked. Harry has a, lets call it sensitive, stomach and I wasn’t taking any chances (if you know you know)
4. Found a gym – Bali is apparently not the place to start slacking on your sit ups.
5. Eaten our body weight in smoothies and acai bowls – Bali clearly does them like no other!
6. Succumbed to the only way of getting around and hired a scooter. If you know Harry you know he takes health and safety EXTREMELY seriously – he apparently had parents that bothered instilling some sense of danger and actually bought him safety gear for his childhood hobbies. I on the other hand have a more (100%) leap before the look approach – you don’t need a crash helmet if you just don’t fall off!
Anyway, we realised we couldn’t really get around without one and if there is one person Harry trusts to not bin a scooter, it’s himself. We wont mention the 20 year old helmets that are held on by a single thread. Thankfully 25+ years riding motorbikes = more than qualified to weave around pick up trucks and far less qualified teenagers.
7. Found our daily routine – as much as I’d love to spend all our time surfing we’ve got a job to do! New surfboards aren’t going to pay for themselves – despite Harry girl-mathing his way to deciding we would actually loose money if we didn’t immediately buy boards…
We have a decent work set up and counting down the weeks until our new business launches.
8. NOT adopted a street dog into our villa – I am under firm and strict instructions that no matter how cute and non rabid looking, we are not having strays in the villa. Fine, I’ll accept this one as not my best idea. One dog with issues is enough.
9. Not gotten board of only hanging out with each other?!?! We live, work and hangout with each other all the time and some other friends would defiantly not be a terrible idea but so far bickering (and we love to bicker) has been at a minimum and feelings are fully in tact (lol I hope I haven’t jinxed it).
What a fun life we are living and I haven’t wishes I was in Rhyl once!
