What an average Wednesday now looks like – a play by play of everything I did today
Life is looking a little different to our Devon / London life. A bit more sun and a bit less pleading with Andrew to put the heating on. Pace of life is definitely slower out here which suits us and it’s nice to have our time fully on our own terms.
Early to rise
I’ve always been an early riser and nothing has changed here. Typically we do an activity first thing in the morning – gym, surf or a yoga class. The beaches here are all reef breaks which means we can’t surf at low tide and currently the tides do not line up with an early morning session. If you haven’t guessed yet, our schedule is highly dependent on the tides – consider us very in touch with nature. So first thing this morning was a couple hours of work.
Despite it always being sunny and there always been an activity we could do, it has been surprisingly easy to prioritise work. Living out here is a taste of what a free, tropical life could look like which is pretty good motivation to make it permanent. This morning work was mostly content creation for the launch of our new business in November.
Morning coffee run
A new Deli has opened next door to our villa so they will now be taking all our money. A quick trip out to collect our morning juice and coffee.
Surf’s up!
After finishing up our morning of work, which was shockingly lined up with high tide, we packed up the scooter and headed to the beach. Today I actually had a lesson booked with my surf instructor Sagato. Currently Harry is the better surfer and that just isn’t on. After an hour and half 1:1 I was absolutely knackered but had a great session.
Kate please note – absolutely CAKED in suncream!
Today was really really hot and sunny and despite very thorough suncreaming we were both a little crispy and my leftover juice from earlier was 1,000,000 / 10!
More laptop time.
Maybe not that interesting to read about (you tell me). We are down to the nitty gritty business decisions that need making and figuring out all the specific details. I am not a details person and I tend to have an ‘it will probably all be fine’ approach, so considering every possible scenario IN DEPTH is not my favourite. Thankfully Harry is all about the details and we are actually pretty good at making the important decisions.
Swim training
After being very busy and very important I decided to plonk myself by the pool. We have a pool on the rooftop of our villa which is fab. Harry also spent his daily 3 minutes in the sun and turned an even more ridiculous colour. After a swimming race followed by a 40 minute argument about who won (it absolutely was me but I have to accept this is an argument we will never agree on), we had some sandwiches from our new favourite deli.
(photo bombed by my own bunion)
A little bit of home surgery
Harry had a minor altercation with the reef while surfing today so it was time to whip out our extensive home surgery kit. Thankfully he will walk again. With his foot still intact we headed to dinner.
The crispy chicken wrap of dreams
One of our local spots we eat at regularly. Followed by the best cookies we have ever ever had. Dangerously, this cookie spot is 3 minutes from our villa.
RINSE AND REPEAT!
